Never underestimate the Power of Paints
If you are reading this article, then you already know that American
Paint Horse can have a profound influence on our world. Using the
Power of Paints to improve lives is the mission of the American Paint
Horse Foundation, which is dedicated to youth leadership and
scholarship programs, equine research, preserving the heritage of the
Paint Horse and supporting other worthwhile projects such as therapeutic riding.
The American Paint Horse Foundation is the Heart of the American Paint
Horse Association.
In fact, the Foundation:
• has awarded 500 college scholarships worth almost $500,000 to
deserving youngsters, many of whom will be our Paint Horse leaders of
tomorrow;
• supports programs such as therapeutic riding;
• helps introduce children to Paint Horses through an ambitious
outreach program;
• literally helps put kids in the saddle for the first time, in hopes
they will continue their involvement;
• preserves the remarkable heritage of the breed through financial
support and awareness; and
• supports research to ensure the continued strength and vitality of
the breed.
Two ways you can support the Foundation during the World
Championship Paint Horse Show are by participating in two exciting
fund-raising programs now taking place.
Foundation Filly Raffle
If you haven’t seen Gay Bars Christi yet at the Gift Show Arena or in
the John Justin Arena during evening performances, there’s still time.
This filly is doing remarkably well after only five months of
training. She was bred to be a champion. Her sire is Mr Gay Bar
Freckles, who is in Sweden right now making a name for himself. He was
Reserve Champion in Amateur Reining at the European Championships.
Before that, he was a Top 5 finisher here at the World Show.
The filly also has Gay Bar O Lena, Delta Olena and Delta in her
pedigree. In fact, her pedigree traces back to Delta four times. Delta
was the first Paint Horse inducted into the NCHA Hall of Fame and was
an NCHA Super Stakes winner.
Tickets are only $10 and are available at the APHA information booths
(outside John Justin Arena and the Paint Horse Journal booth, Horse
Show Office and the General Store.
This fine filly will be given away Saturday, July 5. You don’t need to
be present to win, but you do need to get a ticket to be in the running.
